BLACKSTONE POINT OYSTER FARMS * COLD, FRESH, MAINE! * DAMARISCOTTA RIVER * OYSTERS *

Since 2016 the Blackstone Point crew has been growing premium Maine oysters on the Damariscotta River estuary, promising top-quality and traceability from our hands to yours. We farm through fair and foul weather to bring you our best and briniest.

From Great Salt Bay to the fast-flowing channel waters of Hog Island, we work with our environment to cultivate hearty oysters with a signature bright buttery brine.

Our oysters are raised - harvested - packed by hand.

Whether you’re enjoying our oysters at a favorite local raw bar or out in the wild for a seaside picnic, trust they’ve been grown with care—from our hands to yours.

How do we do it? Years of improvisation, exploration, and conversation…& foul-weather gear.

Sea farming requires adaptation to the patterns and traits of our sites—every farm site is unique. Plus, our dynamic crew brings rich experiences and ideas from many backgrounds. We have crafted our unique approach by learning from our communities and blending diverse techniques…and the recipe is always changing.

Sustainability — at the heart of everything we do.

Did you know? On our farm we use zero pesticides, herbicides, feed, or fresh water. Read more about oyster mariculture here.

An oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water each day and our farms provide habitat for other sea flora and fauna, acting as floating reefs. Farming in public waters encourages strong local networks and engagement. We believe in oyster farming as a vital practice for the future of our coasts, communities, and how we eat.
